Born in Seoul in 2006, Hyunmin Kim began studying piano at the age of four and composition at nine. In 2020, he was admitted to the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts (KNIGA), where he studied composition under Dongjin Bae and Hyunwook Tak until 2022. He entered the Korea National University of the Arts (K-ARTS) in 2023, where he is currently studying under composer Jihyang Kim.
