Born in Seoul in 2006, Hyunmin Kim learned piano from the age of 4 and studied composition after the age of 9. In 2020, he was admitted to the composition department at the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts (KNIGA), where he studied under Dongjin Bae and Hyunwook Tak. He entered the composition department at the Korea National University of the Arts(K-ARTS) in 2023 and is currently studying under composer Jihyang Kim. His work focuses on constructing a strange and paradoxical musical world by utilizing compulsive rhythms and extreme textural contrasts.
